BLM group USA, a world-renowned manufacturer of tube processing equipment, has introduced the E-Flex, a highly versatile CNC bending machine for wire fabrication. Featuring an automatic single head, this fully electric CNC machine is designed for simple to highly complex three-dimensional wire bending, for both short runs and high-volume production.
The Michigan-based firm specialises in tube fabrication solutions and equipment, and alongside wire bending machines, also produces laser tube cutting, cold sawing and tube bending, end-forming and wire bending machines.
According to BLM, their new E-Flex machine also has the ability to correct the program by searching for previous bends that could affect the bending sequence. This functionality speeds up productivity by eliminating the need for manual adjustments.
In terms of the hardware spec, the E-Flex has two clockwise and counter-clockwise bending turrets, ideal for three-dimensional bending during one part operation within the same machining cycle. It straightens coil-fed wire in both vertical and horizontal orientations, to allow for various size and types of wire and automatic operation.
As for the software, the E-Flex uses VGP3D, a 3D visual graphic program that allows operators to generate a single machining program by entering geometric part data and automatically simulate the feasibility of the bending operation. It also allows them to change the running sequence directly in simulation mode, and to calculate the real cycle time in advance.
